Glad ya got it figured out. I have a Smith 10 shot at Smith dosen't like stingers to well as far as fit and function in the cylinder. My Gov works great so far. As you stated Smith will take care of ya. keep us posted as I will on my 617 10 shot.......

New 617 and Stingers...... Mine is back at the factory as I write this post in reguards to not wanting to chamber stingers. I do know stingers are as said before longer in case length than regular 22-LR. Hope to get this revolver back soon. It is a tack driver in standard length 22 LR.

Thanks all to the response to my ?'s. I looked dummy me and saw about no auto rim cartridge in the inst book that came with the Gov. I was just wondering about the gap cartridge not that I ever would shoot any in this piece. I love the S&W .500 Mag monogrips on your Gov I bet that really does...

Can the 45 GAP be used in the S&W GOV?? I know the 45-acp, and 45 long colt, as well as 2.5 410's can be used in the Gov. How about 45 auto rim? Thanks!!

I scrubed the heck out of the cylinders on this revolver. I think the stingers are just a tad bit too long to seat properly in the cylinder. Got a call into Smith, they are gonna send me out a shipping label. Heck this is a brand new gun. I know they will fix it for sure . Other than that it...
