Went out to the gun club yesterday. Shot my New Gov and my New 4" -617. Man the Gov is flat out awsome. I know I wouldn't want to get shot by it for sure. The 617 is a great revolver as well. The only issue with the 617 is the Stinger ammo . I found out stingers are a tad bit longer and they don't seat fully in the chambers. When they did fire they were dead nut on.The rest of the 22 ammo shot fine as far as I can see or tell.

The Stingers should be fine in your gun; the .22 chambers are bored straight through, since the .22 Long Rifle (and Short and Long) cartridge is a heeled-bullet design. If Stingers don't seat properly in your gun, your chambers might be a bit dirty - the longer Stinger casings would get hung up on any built-up fouling left behind when shooting the shorter Long/Long Rifle cartridges.

I scrubed the heck out of the cylinders on this revolver. I think the stingers are just a tad bit too long to seat properly in the cylinder. Got a call into Smith, they are gonna send me out a shipping label. Heck this is a brand new gun. I know they will fix it for sure . Other than that it shot like a dream. Thanks for your help.:)
