I have taken 2 hogs with handguns, a 150 pounder with a 357mag, and a 200 pounder with a 454 casull. the 357mag did the job well with a 158gr swc & 15gr of 2400 powder, but the casull with a 265gr CPB LBT bullet & 35gr lil gun knocked the living heck outta that hog @ 50 yards. hardcast bullets...
i have a couple boxes of the old remington R357M1 full power 125gr SJHP ammo. lemmy tell ya those sure do get your attention when you touch them puppys off, you can hit what your shooting at with the fire ball at close range lmao.
i have 4 nice lever guns that i hunt with, 2 brownings, a BLR w/the long magazine & a BLR81 w/the flat magazine, both in the great 358win caliber. a winchester 1894 big bore in 375win caliber. and a marlin 1895 guide gun from the early 2000's, when marlin was really marlin. love them all...
im not sure about the firearm caliber rules for deer hunting in florida, but hearing of the small stature of deer in fla. id say a 223 with stoutly constructed bullets might be a good choice for a 12 year old. minimal kick and less muzzle blast too.
im not too sure about that Black Knight, i have a colt police positive spl. made in 1914 that will only accept 38 special ammo. i tried to drop 357 mags in the cyl. a minute ago and they dont fit. im not trying to sound like a know it all, just saying i dont see that as an issue. ill bet your...
that's i great looking gun, i wish the one i was looking at looked that way id have snatched it up in a second, and at that price id have prolly broke my arm pulling my wallet out so fast lol.
indeed, i was thinking if i could have gotten it for $375 or $400 i might have still bought it but they wouldnt budge, so oh well. would have prolly shot well but sure looked like an ugly duckling lol. even if it would have had a worn blue finish on it & the original magna grips i would have...
it was a 28-2 not the 28-1 it was advertised as. non original finish w/the nickel flaking off the cylinder. N prefix not S so later production run. not original grips, some rubber ones ive never seen b4. it was tight, it locked up real good, prolly a good shooter to buy if it were in better...
