Model 13-2 not P&R

For what it is worth.(not much) I would decide what I think I would pay(not necessarily what I would like to pay). And make an offer (maybe $25 bucks lower) and wait and see. If he comes back with a counter offer and it is within reason, I would do the deal. I have been guilty of walking away from some real nice guns because I was too cheap. Lost a nice 25-2 (with a fitted long Colt cylinder) because I wouldn't give up the extra $35 bucks-----Dumb ***) Just say'in, If you want the gun don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

13-2 variations

Here are 3 FBI shipped 13-2s and they are all different. One is pinned and recessed, one is pinned not recessed and another is neither pinned or recessed. Go figure.

My 13-2 dates to ~1981. It must be a transition gun because the barrel is not pinned and the cylinder is recessed. Purchased five years ago on GB for $370 it was a risk that, after a trip to the 'smith, turned out to be an excellent truck gun and field companion. It ain't pretty, but it sure is handy. Glad I got one before they became popular.

He's had it posted at that price since March. Don't think he's in a hurry to sell. Like was said earlier, I will offer him less, worst he can do is to say "No".

That same one I believe has been for sale off and on for close to 2 years now. Same price too. I don't think he's in to big a hurry to sell.

As far as Colt valuations go, the monetary valuation of a revolver is determined by a market, not an individual's opinion. The "true" value is what people are willing to pay. There's currently a 1977 Python bid up to almost $1900, so I'd say p8riot did pretty well on his Python. Congrats, and you bought it right!

Having said that, there are a lot of "$3500" Pythons on gunbroker. Most don't sell, so they really aren't $3500 Pythons if they don't sell at that price. Some sell at that price if they're unique enough (but still factory), though.
