    Single stack 9mm

Curious as to why "non-polymer." That cuts out a huge number of modern, reliable, proven designs.

    So what’s the opposite of a t-grip?

Another vote for Nill Griffe grips. They're like squeezing a bar of clay, but with beautiful wood. Not much on the front, great fill-in behind the trigger guard, and some meat on the back - mostly at the top. Nill Grips for S&W Revolvers

Great seller to deal with. Responded to a long-shot WTB thread I started and had exactly what I was looking for. Quick deal, and items arrived better than expected. All-around great guy to deal with.

    What Colt 1911?

Looks like that pic came from this excellent review: Pistol Review: Wiley Clapp 1911 Government Model from Colt I did add a larger thumb safety - took about 30 minutes (with YouTube) to file and fit - easy job. Also extended mag release and new grips.

    Advice needed

I personally wouldn't. I would consider both as carry revolves vs target/range revolvers, and the 3" barrel with lighter frame is ideal for carry. If you do trade, and both are similar condition, I believe the 65 is more valuable than the 686, especially if it's pinned and recessed. JMHO

    65-2 Change or Not

Slab It Another vote to slab-side. I recently picked up a 65-3 that had been previously cut down and customized by Hellfire Custom Guns out of PA. Here's a pic of his work.
