    Primers

I'd side on the primers not being seated properly. Sometimes on my progressive I find that I've not made a full stroke to the "stop", ending with slightly high primers. 99% of my "light strikes" fire when struck again.

Just Bought A Press - Questions

Kanew, You mentioned you need to find a place to put your new press. Wherever you put it, make it solid...really solid. A press puts an unbelievable amount of torque on the edge of a bench. Also, Range, or once fired brass, as others have said is the way to go. I got a tumbler from Harbor...

    Adjusting the bullet seating die?

OK. First off, I get the crimp process when using the seating die. I also get the process of using the 4 die set. Question; (and this has been annoying me for some time) when using the seating die to crimp, doesn't it stand to reason that the bullet is being seated (still being pushed into...

For You Wet Tumblers: How Do You Handle Rifle Cases?

I'm pretty frugal. I use short pieces (3/4" to 1" ) of #12 copper wire to wet tumble my pistol brass. Dawn and lemmy shine, of course. These work very well. I've had folks say the copper wire will scratch and damage the brass. I haven't seen evidence of this, and the cases come out sparkling...

    The old progressive dilema

If the OP doesn't take the 450 in Allentown, PM me, I'll grab it up. By the way, I have to agree with VanMan. I have a loadmaster, and I've run over 10K of 9mm through it. Yes every now and again I get a turned primer. Never had a double charge (almost impossible on a LM). It indexes...

    Help for an M&P 9

True. Holding a thumb on the TD lever isn't the end of the world. However, I'm planning on gifting the gun to a family member, and was just wondering if it's a wear issue or if something is maybe missing.

    Help for an M&P 9

Bought a used 9 from Buds. Picked it up yesterday. Inspected it, complete with take down at the shop before bringing it home. It was crusty dirty. Here's my question; When I brought it home, went to take it down, locked the slide, tripped the sear release, flipped the take down lever. Then...

What do you carry in your range bags?

I guess I might be approaching the "safe clean out" group. Handguns I plan on shooting, typically 2 to 3 Ears (2x) Eyes Hex key set Screwdriver small flashlight stapler mags mag loader

Letting slide slam shut on empty chamber

All I can say is the slide lock on my FNS9 is stiff as a board. I couldn't drop the slide with the release if someone paid me.

Do you have a favorite brand of primers?

CCI's were my go to for everything. Never an issue. One trip to Cabelas a couple years ago, and no SP CCI's to be found. Ended up with S&B's. Bought 2 bricks to try, great price. No issues with those either. Now, it's S&B's for my handguns and CCI's for my long guns.

First batch of .223 ready to go!

Question to the OP, sort of unrelated; I only load 223 for my bolt gun and don't crimp (don't have an AR). Looking at the picture of your rounds, it appears there is a fairly heavy crimp. Is a crimp required for AR's? and how heavy, if so?

    A Cabela's order

Weird thing I discovered about Cabela's. I had some coupon or special sent to me, and decided place an order for in store pick-up. Thought I'd use it on Primers. THEY CAN'T SHIP PRIMERS TOT HE STORE!?...... Maybe the ones in the store are grown back?

M&P 9 full size mag problems

If you have a loaded mag, the weight of the ammo in mag will make it seem as though it's under spring tension. Also, a closed slide on a loaded mag does put exert pressure on the mag. (release a loaded mag upside down). There is also very (VERY) slight pressure exerted on the follower by the...

[sound of Own Horn Tooting] 9mm success!!!

I can't get lead to chamber in my PPX. The same rounds chamber perfectly in my M&P FS9. It's like the feed ramp is at too steep an angle, and the lead digs in slightly. I'll need to try a slightly shorter OAL. By the way, agree 100% with the PPX. Fine trigger, great gun.
