I've come to believe that malfunctions are inherent in these "micro" pocket .380s. Physics in not the pocket .380's friend. Regardless of maker, there always seems to be issues and they are VERY sensitive to ammo and shooting form.

Would smooth be correct? I was thinking it need the grips similar to these but has the medallions at the top. Hell of a time finding those. I assume my pre-victory is actually the model 1905. Oh, an if I find the correct grips...they are yours ;)

That is what I would do. Practice with standard ammo and carry +P. I carry a 37-2 that is not rated for +P but I carry Speer +P for snubbies. I have shot some of the +P to see how it does but the rest of my shooting is done with standard ammo. You should be fine.
