P+ load?

Your M-60 is not rated for +P loads, but I read a magazine article a number of years ago where they put 5000 rounds of +P ammo through a J-frame that was not rated for +P ammo and it had no effect on the gun. If it were me and I was just going to use it for defensive purposes, I would not hesitate to use +P loads. But not recreational shooting.

That is what I would do. Practice with standard ammo and carry +P. I carry a 37-2 that is not rated for +P but I carry Speer +P for snubbies. I have shot some of the +P to see how it does but the rest of my shooting is done with standard ammo. You should be fine.

I carried a Model 60 on duty for years, which I bought brand new in 1987. Our issue ammunition was Winchester government issue +P 158 gr. lead hollow points. It's had thousands put through it with no problem. I still have it and I'd still trust it. Fwiw.
