I picked up a well used 908 a couple years back for $220 with three mags and holster.
I'm sure you'll like the SW99c! I was very fond of my P99c, just not fond of .40s&w so that's why I sold it. I did have to pick up an SW99 in .45 to replace it though.
Yes, it does work.
I can get Glock front sights for $25 installed so I tried moving my night sight from my G36 to my SW99 .45 and it works. There is a caveat. The front sight hole on the SW99's a good bit larger in length so the front sight can be turned just slightly. I think I took care of...
Just ran across one that's in great shape for $300. I thought was a good deal though not as nice as your $200 pickup so I grabbed it. Since they were only made for a few years and to date are the only .45acp version of the P99 design made makes them desirable. Haven't taken it to the range...
I like my 908. Like others have said they just work. It's got a smooth DA/SA action and carries very well. The grip doesn't fit my hand as well as my Sig P239, but it points easily as well. The finish is thin and prone to blemishes. Nice HC job poohgyrr. I've been looking for an affordable...
The backstrap attachment point for the compacts is in a different place then the full size so you may be able to us a compact backstrap and simply drill a hole in the frame to attach it. Since you'll already be hacking the frame what's one hole.
I just recently got a P99c and love it. I...
If you're worried about messing up the finish why don't you try something temporary that'll you can always take off. Try using a piece of electrical tape over the sharp edge and see if that helps. If it doesn't or if it bothers you more then take it off. Doesn't hurt to try.
I previously had a 469, which was my first S&W auto. I was impressed with it's reliability and accuracy, but was a little leary because it was a 2nd gen and not covered by S&W's lifetime warranty if something were to happen (frame crack or something else major). After I traded it away I picked...
After proving my newest acquisition, the Smith & Wesson 908, was reliable and accurate enough and then carrying it a couple weeks concealed & tucked I decided it needed it's own holster. Since it fits very well in the Crossbreed SuperTuck that I use tucked at the 4 o'clock position I don't need...
You won't break anything by trying to line up the slides onto the frames. I've put a 6946 slide onto my 908 frame and it appears to work, though it puts it in SAO with no safety so I wouldn't carry it that way. It appeared to work though. Was mostly curious.
Pioneer461, can you show me a close up picture of your 457 with those sights? I'd like to show my father-in-law them. His eyesight isn't what it used to be and I think he might like them.
Thanks
My father-in-law likes to visit Clyde's. I'll have him take a look next time he's there.
Oh, I agree that there are some loons. Just check out the "hunting trailers" that folks are trying to get rid of in the Auto section. Some people just think they can steal stuff from you. I won't meet...
