I recently bought a S&W Performance Center 629 V-Comp and it was shooting 18" high at 50 yards with the rear sight bottomed out. I sent it back to S&W to have them fix the gun so it shoots to the point of aim.
Does anyone have any idea how long they will probably take to get my gun back to me...
I wasn't impressed with the appearance of my gun when it arrived either. The bluing on the right side of the front sight was all messed up and it also looked like it had been shot a lot. I also didn't like the gap at the bottom of the barrel underlug but thought maybe it was planned that way...
I just bought a brand-new S&W 629 Performance Center V-Comp. I finally got to the range today and it is hitting 18" high at 50 yards with the rear sight bottomed out. I tried 3 different brands of ammo and had two other guys also shoot it. We all had the same result.
I don't know if it's...
Years ago, a guy at the range offered to let me shoot his 329. I don't know what kind of loads he had in it but it was pretty brutal. The odd thing is that since then, I have been wanting one. I keep telling myself that the recoil wasn't really that bad. If I were you, I'd try to find...
I wanted a 5" with a full underlug barrel for a long time but could never find one so I ended up ordering a Performance Center V-Comp with the 4.35" barrel. I can't wait for it to come in so I can tell you how it shoots. I still really like the look and balance of the 5" guns though.
I would say that it probably ruined your barrel and you should sell the gun to me immediately for an incredibly cheap price. I'll buy it to help you out ;)
When I saw your post said M60 all cleaned up, I flashed back to my military days and thought I was going to see a nice old machine gun. I completely forgot that I was on the S&W Forum and about the S&W model 60. Old minds sometimes get overly-excited:)
The revolver looks good by the way.
This is an old S&W Smith & Wesson .32 S&W break-top revolver. The color case hardening on the hammer looks very good. None of the grip screws appear to have ever been worked on as there are no marks on the screws. The serial number on the bottom of the frame is 2220XX. On the rib on the top of...
Any interest in trading for a Sig P226 9mm or Sig P220 .45? They each have night sights and three magazines. I know they aren't on your trade list but I thought I'd offer.
I also have a nice older model 10 with a factory heavy barrel with factory target trigger and hammer.
I can send pics of...
I don't have anything against Colts except that I like to have all my guns grouped into "families" that function similarly.
Years ago when I was still an active police officer, I was using a Remington 11-87 for deer hunting. Right after deer season, I was at work and had to use my Remington 870...
Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm going to try to find a good used 5" 629.
I have a Performance Center 7.5" Light Hunter but it's too long for a belt holster when I'm seated in my truck or leaned against a tree in an improvised ground blind.
I used to have a 6" Classic that I really liked...
That is exactly what I want. You don't want to trade for a S&W 686 CS-1 4" do you? I'd probably even be willing to throw in a little cash. I understand if you want to keep it, especially since you made it as a custom gun.
I'll probably end up going with a 5" guns since S&W never made the gun...
I've been looking for several months for a Smith & Wesson 629 with a 4" barrel that has a full underlug.
I've found the 2.5" Backpacker model with a full underlug. I kind of like that but the barrel isn't long enough to be a legal hunting gun here in Indiana.
I've found 5" guns with a full...
