    Charter Arms Bulldog/44 Special...Thoughts?

The Charter Arms folks were thoughtful enough to have sandblasted the interior of the original barrel on this one. And, the rifling was cut deeper on one side than the other. So, I cut down and fitted a discarded S&W 696 barrel to this .44 Bull Dog, resulting in what was likely the best barrel...

Well, at least it started out as a Smith & Wesson Model 645:

It has finally happened to me

There is much to the Model 642: … including recoil, unfortunately for arthritic hands, giving real credence to the ominous words, “This’ll hurt me almost as much as It’ll hurt you.”

It has finally happened to me

Good call! The EZ9 I got for Wifey shot so well, and handled so easily, that I got this one for myself, in anticipation of my inevitable, already beginning in noticeable ways, decrepitude: These are the first five shots from it. While kinda close, at 7 yards, that’s the across-the-room...

    First Shots from EZ9

The EZ9 I got for Wifey shot so well, and handled so easily, that I got this one for myself, in anticipation of my inevitable, already starting to develop, age-related disabilities: These are the first five shots from it. While kinda close, at 7 yards, that’s the across-the-room distance at...

    Snubby Kit Gun

Very handy, but takes a good deal of concentration on the basics to shoot it well at distance: Shot double action, two hands standing at 50 feet. (Please just ignore that flyer 8, like it never happened. That’s what I do.)

OK, let's talk batons and any leather guys, come on in...

For a time, I carried on patrol a regulation length baton which I made from an axe handle. I installed on it a rubber grommet and shaved down the high spots so it would deploy perfectly from the baton ring on my Sam Browne duty belt. It had three quite attractive attributes: 1) It was oval in...

New addition to collection- Model 63

Don’t limit yourself unnecessarily when considering which grips would suit you best on your S&W Model 63. Butt-ugly rubber grips might be just what you need:
