I swear by a 642 or a 36 (keeping it classic).

There is much to the Model 642:

A couple of ideas may be helpful in extending your time with auto pistols:

With a hammer fired SA or DA/SA pistols, you can cock the hammer. With the hammer cocked, the force needed to cycle the slide is greatly reduced.

The other day I installed a red dot sight on my Glock 34. When I went to cycle the slide, it was suddenly real easy. You can run the side of the first index finger nuckle against the sight and cycle the slide without needing to grasp it.

The one subject we all become experts in, like it or not, is coping with the changes the passage of time forces on us. Stay happy.

Why not S&W Equalizer? Same EZ slide but does 10/13/15 round 9mm mags (same mags as shield plus)

This is the exact reason I bought the 632 UC. I didn’t particularly want to add another caliber to my collection, but the extra round over my 642, and less recoil has been just what my old arthritic hands needed.

Pinch and pull gets difficult, I use the pinch push method. Just stay out of line of the bore.View attachment 776599

I see this a lot at the range, most of the time the barrel is pointing toward the next person's belly. It would kill two people just like that. I'm 80 and this is what I do. Only I don't aim at other people.

Muzzle awareness.As mentioned I work in a Gunshop. Can't count how many times I've ducked.
