Not sure what tangent you guys are on with a magazine lock or disconnect. That has nothing to do with the slide stop or releasing the slide. The mag lockout is so the gun cannot fire with the magazine removed.

I have the Shield .40 and it does recoil more than the 9mm. I use it as my EDC. The compact is more bulky than a the Shield for sure. Shield easily slides into my pants pockets no problem. If you want a softer shooter, choose the 9mm.

Get an Apex trigger kit. I was all over the place with the Shield first time out. It's the trigger break that causes this for sure

The slide stop on the Shield can be hard to release by pressing down on it only. If it is, use a small micro/hobby file and take the sharp edge off the bottom rear corner of the slide stop. You most likely have a sharp edge in that area and it really bites into the slide cutout. I used a honing...

Most of those people are new to firearms and have no clue what they're buying. I've seen that here in FL and turned right around when I saw the lines. No way I'm standing in any line like that for overpriced items. It would have to be deals to good to pass on, LOL

Adams Arms bolt is the same as a DI bolt, just no gas rings and a spring behind it. I would think S&W would send a shipping label your rifle if its under warranty due an incorrect part used during assembly.
