    What's the best action wrench

I'm planning on buying a revolver action wrench. Brownell's has their model, the MGW, and Ron Powers' version. Does anyone have a preference between the models? Thanks.

    Got Humpback Disease

One benefit of the sloped backstrap is hand placement is much less critical. If I grip a bit high with a Bodyguard there's no pain when I pull the trigger.

    Problem with cylinder retention

The stud looks normal to me. Don't be skeptical, those yokes can bend and it only would take a few thousandths to create your problem. Also remember that things do loosen up over time, if you start out with a yoke/cylinder fit that is a bit loose and a stud that is a hair short, it only takes...

    searching for special firearm tools

Hello, I'm not a gunsmith or a machinist but I have seen guided cutting bits before. I don't know the correct name but they cut a flat bottomed hole and have a cylindrical guide peg in the center of the cutting surface. Perhaps you can find one that will allow the guide to fit inside the yoke...

    Exchange bodyguard hammer

Can a Centennial (42,442) hammer be exchanged with a Bodyguard (38,49) hammer as a fast way to convert the Bodyguard to DAO? I've had good luck swapping out K frame hammers with the factory DAO ones. Thanks

    Locking bolt questions

Thanks for your reply. I have compared it to my other K frames and it appears that the locking bolt just barely enters the front of the extractor rod. I plan on removing it and cleaning the recess in the underlug. If that doesn't work I will replace the parts. There is a bit of a hitch when...

    Locking bolt questions

My 2" m15 is quite loose where the extractor rod meets it's locking bolt. The pin that extends out of the front of the barrel underlug is out farther than on any of my other K frames. Also the locking bolt extends to the rear quite a bit less. Does anyone have ideas on how to fix this?

    38's, 357's & a 4" 19-4

Hello, feeding your 19 a steady of maximum loads will cause wear to accelerate. Eventually you will encounter timing and endshake issues. Possibly parts will have to be replaced. This is the nature of the beast. Spare parts are getting fewer, and the number of qualified pistolsmiths shrinks...

Model 67 - pinned front sight?

    I have a 67, and a 67-1. They both have solid, non-pinned sights. I don't believe I've ever seen a pinned one.

Bulged cylinders on .357 K frames?

I haven't seen any oval, or bulged chambers or split forcing cones in my experience. I'm sure it can happen; any mechanical device will wear. When something breaks, then I have it fixed. I suspect that the day isn't far away when the repair cost of my K frames will exceed the purchase price...

How difficult is it to replace a boobed hammer with a spurred one?

KBM 6893, if you decide to change your bobbed hammer, I would be interested in buying it from you, depending on it's condition.

    Opinions on the 649

I find the hump on the back allows me to adjust my thumb position and blade my hand more when drawing from my pocket. I'd buy it and not look back!

1955 COMBAT MASTERPIECE AND +P AMMO

I apologize for reviving this thread but it has kept me thinking since I first read it. I believe that any S&W revolver in good condition is safe to fire ammunition loaded to the SAAMI maximum standards, or accepted industry maximum standards in place for the year it was manufactured. By good...

    .38-200 Ammo Issue Question

I suspect this could be the result of the people in charge assuming that once shot the enemy would cease aggressive action. Surely in combat the soldier wouldn't need to dispatch more than 12 hostile soldiers.
