Just Picked up another Smith 3rd gen / 10mm 1006

It's a very well built firearm, and definitely accurate. The 10mm is definitely a '' reloaders" round. It's not very common where I live and prices range from "ridiculous" to "extremely ridiculous". I just prefer the 1911 platform over anything. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a different 3rd gen...

Just Picked up another Smith 3rd gen / 10mm 1006

I also read that the 180gr. Buffalo Bore 10mm rounds are "true" 10mm rounds as well. With a rating of 1350fps and 750lbs of energy sounds pretty good to me.

Just Picked up another Smith 3rd gen / 10mm 1006

Just traded my Smith Model 1000 12ga for a Nice 3rd gen Model 1006 10mm. Full size 5" barrel. Came with 2 mags and 72 JHP rounds, 20 of which are 175Gr. Winchester Silvertips , So I'm pretty thrilled about that. The gun had some minor wear issues when I first got it , But spent a little time...

    My New (to me) 5906

The Hogue wood grips are wider than your stock grips and are even larger than the Hogue rubber grips. I have pretty big hands and they fit nicely. To me there is no exception, I wanted wood grips because they look good, I can make anything functional. Life is too short to have ugly grips.

Some Goncalo Alves Hogue grips on my 5946, I wish there was more options too, but These will do.

    My New (to me) 5906

I really like the "Squared" trigger guard. I wonder if any of the other Calibers had a square trigger guard early version. Anyway here is a quick picture of mine with some Hogue grips.

Smith Wesson 5906 - CDNN Just Ordered

I also went with Mother's and A cotton buffing wheel on a bench grinder. I didn't want a "Mirror" like finish, but the entire pistol had small scratches and wear marks. I just buffed out all the imperfections and didn't polish any area too long. Here is what I ended up with.

You paint over the engraved area with nail polish, then use acetone free nail polish remover, there is ton of YouTube videos.

    Older S&W long guns

I picked up a Excellent condition Model 1000 on GunBroker, I knew that they had issues with the Piston shock absorber. And as expected it was in much need of help, So after a couple hours of cleaning , I replaced the Piston shock absorber with a Rubber hose washer that I trimmed down to size. I...
