I love wood and have bought several wood grips for my S&W's in the past. Doing some cleaning up in the house so offering these grips at a nice deal for both of us!!
These nice N-Frame Wood Grips I think are made of Goncalvo Alves. I bought these many years ago and do not remember exactly what...
Jim Dubell was the owner of Delta Gunshop and Clearwater Reboring. He did great work and did a complete rework of one of my Marlin 1894SS .44Magnum Lever Rifles to a one of a kind Marlin 1894SS .45 Long Colt with SAAMI SPEC 1:16 Twist Rate. All Marlin .45LC rifles were made with a 1:38 Twist...
S&W says the 686 is a K Frame while the 629-6 Classic is a N Frame yet the frames look identical to me and while the grip on the 686 is a K grip and the 629 has an "N" grip they seem to be interchangeable except for the tabs that stick up at the top of the grips.....
686- K Frame
629-6...
Both of my S&W are N frames.. I will probably sell the grips later in the S&W ads here once I am sure what they are for.
I am quite happy with the grips on my two S&W's as you can see below :):D
686 Custom .357Mag on top. I have since removed the scope and base and shooting it straight...
A friend gave me these beautiful grips and I can not identify what they go to. They do not fit my N Frame 626 or 629. He thought they were for an old S&W .22 cal revolver. Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated....
After much finagling I was finally able to get the cylinder open and the problem was the Knurled Ejector Pusher Rod was loose. I was able to tighten it and it works perfectly now. It was very useful to know about the LEFT HAND THREAD too...
Thanks.
Since I have not seen the inside yet please explain - I assume the EJECTOR ROD is attached to the THUMB PAD you push toward the cylinder that presses in the locking pin in the cylinder - - correct?
The push lever does not appear to be pressing far enough to release the cylinder to load/unload. Where can I find a good schematic of a 629-3 and Parts List? Is there a trick to releasing the cylinder when the button is not working?
