Felt Recoil 380 compared to 9mm

I can't really comment comparing those two but I recently shot my M2.0 9mm back to back with a Glock 42, which is .380. I couldn't wait to get back to the M&P. -Not that the G42 was bad, it was just much more of a snappy feel compared to the "push" of my M&P. Recoil really is a subjective...

Small problem with 2.0 slide while reassembling

Thanks for all the replies. Somehow, the problem went away after reassembling a few times. This gun definitely deserves a range report. I'll try to post one sometime this week. I'm very pleased with this gun. :)

Small problem with 2.0 slide while reassembling

Just bought a new 2.0 M&P (not compact). I haven't gotten it to the range yet but did basic field strip to familiarize myself with it and check out the internals. When reassembling, the slide would only go about 3/4 of the way back and would then hit a wall and refuse to go any further...

    Range report SD9VE

Finally returned to the range with a clean and lubed gun, and after an extended range session with no issues, I officially declare the gun FIXED. Needless to say, I am happy with S&W customer service. The gun is now assigned HD duty and occasional carry status. My ‘no issues’ comment isn’t...

    Range report SD9VE

Sorry for taking so long to get back but it took me a while to finally find range time once my gun returned from Smith & Wesson. Turnaround time was 3 weeks from the time S&W “checked in” the gun, which was about 6 days after Fedex delivery confirmation- so almost 4 weeks. Not too bad. The...

    SD9ve trigger pull

From reading threads, there must be a good bit of variation in SD9VE triggers. Mine breaks at 7 lbs after about 5/16" of travel. Many revolvers have double action pulls in the double digits. Dry fire a recent production out-of-box Centennial snubby and you'll think the SD9VE is light.

    Range report SD9VE

Called Smith & Wesson. Had a return label in my inbox before I even hung up the phone. I'm hoping they'll take time to put enough rounds through the gun to see what I'm experiencing. The failures happen about every 50-60 rounds or so. If they only fire a mag or two, they many not experience...

    Range report SD9VE

My issues are probably worthy of a new thread, but for now, I'll continue here. I've officially decided to contact S&W customer service. The failures to extract/doublefeeds have now happened with: Federal Champion 115gr brass, Blazer Brass 124gr, Blazer Brass 115gr, Fiocchi brass 115gr, WWB...

    Range report SD9VE

No offense taken. Grease on the slide rails, or as a lube, in general, is a subject of varying schools of thought and experience and expertise seem to have little bearing on the opinions of the matter. I'm not a one size fits all guy when it comes to lubing my guns and there are some guns I...

    Uses for SD9VE

Mine will be home defense and a range toy once the kinks are worked out (having failures to extract). I love the trigger (bone stock), the way it points and overall shootability. I have other guns for carry.

What are some holster options for the sd9ve?

Bulldog's "leather belt slide" is inexpensive, holds up well and fits the SD9VE perfectly. I know it's not kydex but it works. Also, Fobus has one that fits if he doesn't mind paddle holsters.

    Range report SD9VE

One other thing about today's range trip.... I continue to enjoy the stock trigger and overall shootability of the gun. The center of the target is gone. I had a few flyers that were shooter error. I've been shooting so long that I know as soon as I pull the trigger if I didn't do my job. I...

    Range report SD9VE

Ok, here's what happened today When I got to the range today I marked one of the mags on the bottom with an X so I would know which mag any issues happened with. Fired 2 full mags of Federal HST (32 rounds) with zero issues. Opened the 100 rounds of WWB, fired a full mag with no issues. On...

    Range report SD9VE

I still haven't made it back to the range. Maybe this weekend.... For clarity, the second failure was Fiocchi. The first one definitely wasn't Fiocchi. The failures were roughly 100 rounds apart. It cycled a full box of Blazer Brass without fail and I was about through the box of Fiocchi...

    Range report SD9VE

Thanks Mark IV for the response. Your response pretty much sums up my thinking. I'm zero tolerance when it comes to malfunctions in a defensive weapon but only after break-in. With the darkness of the range, I couldn't tell for sure which round didn't extract during that first mag. With the...
