Just bought a new 2.0 M&P (not compact). I haven't gotten it to the range yet but did basic field strip to familiarize myself with it and check out the internals. When reassembling, the slide would only go about 3/4 of the way back and would then hit a wall and refuse to go any further rearward. If I put a little force into it, whatever was making contact would cause the trigger to move. I made sure that the takedown lever was all the way down. I eventually got it back together by wiggling the slide a little and trying repeatedly until it got past whatever was in the way. I repeated slide removal and reassembly several times to see if it continued and ran into this wall every time. I'm sure this is something simple that doesn't require a trip to Massachusetts. Tips? Does something need a little tweaking?

Its your slide stop.

You bumped it up part way or all the way.

Your ejector hit the back of the slide cover.

Sometimes I have to lift or wiggle the back of the slide to get past the ejector.

Thanks for all the replies. Somehow, the problem went away after reassembling a few times. This gun definitely deserves a range report. I'll try to post one sometime this week. I'm very pleased with this gun. :)
