    686 questions

I acquired a 686-4, serial number BSP0xxx. It has the six inch barrel. The gun is like new. It has not been shot much. It came with the original blue plastic box, and the paperwork. My question is, did this gun come with a cleaning kit? If so, what type? Was it the one with the straight round...

Part 2 Please tell me why this model 19 and 44 sold for so much

I saw that the SAT was wrong, but what is the deal with the cleaning rod? I see a lot of S&W type cleaning rods with attachments ( loops for patches, jags). There were not attachments like that were there. I did not mean to hijack the thread. Thanks John

    686 cylinder sticking

I have had the cylinder off. I remove it every time I clean the gun. I don't think it's due to grime under the cylinder. I have had this problem with a 629 and a 66 in the past. Didn't know if it was a characteristic of stainless or not. Thanks for all the replies. I really do appreciate it. John

    686 cylinder sticking

I have a model 686 that won't open as easily as I think it should. I have had this problem in the past on some other stainless guns. But, this one is the worst. I have checked the cylinder rod and, its tight. What else do I need to do? Thanks to all that reply. John
