Range Report & M&P 15-22 "Apples & Oranges Comparison" to my Dedicated .22lr setup

This is an example of "apples to oranges" comparison, especially since the guns have such different optics. (Still interesting, though!)

    Golden Bullets

I have had occasional problems with loose GBs in my 15-22 as well as in my Ruger 22-45 and S & W 41. They fail to feed when the bullets contact the feed ramp, cock upwards, and cause the case to hang up on the mouth of the chamber. Doesn't happen with CCI, Federal, Winchester, or other brands.

    Bushnell TRS-25

The Bushnell TRS25's battery reached the end of its long and productive life at approximately 11:42 AM, April 3, 2013. The end was sudden, though not unexpected, as the red dot had been weakening for several days. A private memorial service was held at 12 PM today. In lieu of flowers, please...

    Bushnell TRS-25

At last..... TRS 25 battery is beginning to show signs of fatigue. I had to set it on 6 for today's session. (It's been "on" 4 continually since 8/24/12). Will post again when I replace the battery.

Here's a review which includes photos of the dot. The lens flare on 7 and 11 power is a non-problem, since 4 or 5 power is plenty bright even in direct sunlight. Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Red Dot Review

I apologize for asking the obvious, but have you tried changing batteries a couple of times?

    Bushnell TRS-25

UPDATE: going on 8 months, and the TRS25 dot is still as bright as in August when I turned it on. To the sceptics up in here, there is no auto shut-off, no solar cell, and yes, I did peel off the little clear sticker with a red dot printed on it. :D This thing is amazing!

    Jard Triggers

My favorite 'smithing tool is my Lyman digital trigger-pull gauge. A good gauge will reveal some amazing things about your triggers. It may be the best $59 I ever spent on tools!:D

    Remington CBee22

They are .22LR, truncated cone hp 33 gr., 740 fps. They aren't as quiet as CCI CB's' but feed better than shorts in my bolt and lever guns. Can't recommend throwing them into a camp fire. Here's Midway's listing and photo...
