Hello,
I was wondering what make a grade of whetstones are needed to polish up the action on my 629-4.
Also can a good gun oil like Lucas Extreme duty Be used during the polishing process?
What brand and grade of stones are needed and where is the best place to buy them?
Thanks,
Rich
Hello,
I have a 1990s vintage SRS M629-4 Trail Boss which I live except for the narrow smooth trigger it came with. I have been looking to replace it with NON MIM .400 trigger. I have found some nice used Case Hardened Triggers but I am unsure which will fit my 629-4.
need some advice.
Thanks
Hi,
My 629-4 RSR Trail Boss cam with a smooth narrow trigger. I have always been more comfortable with a wider grooved trigger. That’s what my old M29 had. Is .500 too wide?
Also is swapping out triggers a DO it yourself task or is it best left to a Gunsmith?
Thanks.
I am still looking for an OEM S&W wide trigger for my 629-4 Trail Boss. I need a forged Case hardened (No MIM) trigger. Smooth or ribbed. I am not sure what width the stock trigger on my 2018 629-6 is but that's about what I am looking for.:D
Thanks.
I have been looking for a clean 240 gr SWC commercial 44 magnum medium load to use for target and plinking? Is there any reputable commercial load like this out there?
This one is my favorite. 629-4 3" Magna ported Trail Boss

I was lucky enough to get this hard to find 629-4 3" Magna ported Trail Boss. :D Has great balance.
