Why don't you pull the bullet & powder on a couple. Then set the primed case in whatever you use to prime and see if you can feel the primer seat when you nudge it.

For years my favorite has been the Lyman 452460 (200 gr SWC) over 4.5 grains of 700X. My 4 cav mold is older than than the hills but it is a very sweet casting mold. Using scrap lead I'm shooting for less than a nickle a round.

Nothing like dredging up an old post but I just stumbled into it. Does anyone know what Wayne was using for bullet lube on his cast bullets? I'm not sure if he purchased it or made his own but I would sure like to have some of that lube what ever it was.
I have a SDB and a Lyman turret, plus many other presses. I know that if I sold the SDB and only kept the Lyman turret it would be a tremendous mistake on my part. My advice is to keep the SDB and look for a good used O frame press for the 308. If one is patient good presses can be had for...
Rahjerz, I have its twin brother. A 629-1 classic hunter new in the box. I had every intension of using it but everyday life got in the way. I also have a 686-1 classic hunter as featured in S&W 1989 Catalog. Never got around to firing that one either.
