    S&W model 69 4.25-inch Barrel

Winchester Black bear and deer will cover your camping needs. I put about 300 rounds of those on my 69 before I trade it for 629 4". I trade it mainly just to have 6 shots instead of 5 and also be able to use my speed loaders. The Hogue X frame will make the 69 way better to shoot.

    Cylinder turn lines?

Some old revolvers don't show up a heavy turn line because they have been shot only on single action. Double action tends to make the turn line worse, but thats the nature of the beast

What is going on with the cost/availability of Model 29s?!

I'm among the new gun owners that started last year. My first 44 mag was a 69 model. I got it because most of the ammo available in my area was 44 mag. Then i got a 29-10 around September, then a month after I walked into my local store looking for a 325 thunder ranch and walked out with 629...

    Houston Area Revolversmith

I have taken my revolvers to Collector firearms. They are pretty good. My advice if you want to expedite the process buy the Wilson combat rebound spring kit, or any other part that you want to get installed. They typically don't have those things on stock, and if they order them will slow down...

    OLD or NEW?

I'm mostly a new shooter. Im 38 years old and I always liked the elegance and simplicity of a good S&M revolver. So far I own 4. All them have been bought brand new. 629-6 Classic Deluxe 6 1/2'', a model 29-10 also on 6 1/2'', a model 69 and 19. Off course all of them have the lock and the 69...

    29-10 value

If its brand new that's a heck of a deal. I paid for mine 6 1/2'' brand new $1100 plus taxes. 4'' variants are harder to find and also command prices north of $1000

    model 69 schematic

While the 9 is technically a L-frame. It is not. I has several improvements to make it able to handle .44 Mag loads, that's the reason why some parts are different compared with other L frames. I dont think you'll find those schematics anywhere since it is a fairly new gun.

    S&W 29-10

I heard you. I already have a 69 4 1/4'' that is my camping/hiking gun and also goes to the range on regular basis, but if I find another 29-10 with the 4'' barrel I would not hesitate to get it. Not a real need for another .44 mag but they are so nice. Really beautiful guns.

Smith Wesson 44 Magnum ammo question/choice

Get some cowboy loads 44 special for practice. .44 Mag has some serious recoil for a new shooter. 44 special is totally manageable almost the same as a 45ACP. The problem right now is to find the ammo for practice and carry, 44 special is really hard to come by these days. I have been able to...

    S&W 29-10

Mine came with the wood presentation case and some cleaning accessories, but it is not a 50th. The question about how limited they are, really started because I read an article that although they are currently listed on the S&W website on their current line up. S&M has made one in the past year...

    S&W 29-10

Last week I purchased a brand new 29-10 6 1/2'' . Really lucky to have found this revolver. I always wanted a 29 blued revolver, but I wasn't interested on getting an used one. Yes, I know it has the lock, but it really doesnt bother me. I think the benefits of modern manufacture and technology...
