Just looking for a straght forward review and opinion

I had one in .40. I loved the way it felt and shot...But, it wasnt too reliable. It broke an extractor at 3000 rounds, a striker at 4500, and another extractor at 6000.... I got rid of it and got an XD. that being said, I may get another sigma to keep in the car. I think they are pretty good for...

    Broken extractor

SW40VE , what causes broken extractors. Mine broke at about 3000 rounds, now 3655 rounds later, it is broken again... Can these be bought and replaced easily at home? or does it have to go back to S&W again? Jim

I'll post a picture when I pick it up. I looked it over, it looks fine , minimal holster wear, and it locks up as tight as any.... I will update when I get it and shoot it.

I will probably shoot 38's from it most of the time, but when I shoot .357's , I was planning on using the same load I shoot in my GP100, 20.5 grains of H110 with a 125 grain JHP. Is that a safe load for this gun?

I cant wait to shoot it. At least it will give my poor old model 10 a break. When we go to the range we always take 4-6 guns, but the ones that end up getting shot the most are a model 10-5 4", and the wifes model 67 . I was actually at the LGS looking to buy a CZ .40, but figured, heck I can...

That is good to know. I have been spraying RemOil there, per instructions from the guy at the S&W Warranty center

    cleaning / drying sigma

Yea, I avoided telling them about the reloads. Seriously though, my reloads are on the light side, so i doubt if that is causing any problems. I will tell you this, after cleaning it in the ultrasonic cleaner , it is working just fine again. It isnt something i will do frequently, but on a as...

    cleaning / drying sigma

I probably will end up sending it back to S&W. My thought was, since I do shoot it a lot, maybe if I kept it really clean and well mainained, I wouldnt have to....thats all

    cleaning / drying sigma

I dont generally use the ultrasonic to clean guns, i use it to clean cases for reloading. I just tried it once to deep clean the sigma, and asked a simple question about drying it, then started getting beat up for shooting too much and wanting to take care of my gun... in addition to the Sigma (...
