Saw a model 28-2 at the gun shop today. 349.00,,,,, Just had to buy it. well actually, put money down on it. Like i really need it. already have 2 model 10's and a 67, as well as some other revolvers and autos. Something about those old Smith revolvers..........

$349? DARN right I would be all over that. The 28 is a combination of a Rolex and a Tiger Tank.

Is the M28 the N-frame .357?

Yes it is. The M-28, or Highway patrolman was the "every mans" version of the venerated M-27. The M-28 finish was not as highly polished, it did not have the fine line top strap checkering, and it only came in two barrel options 4" or 6".

I quit buying S&Ws, just to prove I can quit any time. I am not an addict. I have bought a Colt Series 70 1911 and a Ruger Blackhawk Flattop since I last bought a S&W. Just to prove I could do it. Now that I know I can quit anytime I want to, I will feel free to purchase the next S&W that I find that I really want.;)

I cant wait to shoot it. At least it will give my poor old model 10 a break. When we go to the range we always take 4-6 guns, but the ones that end up getting shot the most are a model 10-5 4", and the wifes model 67 . I was actually at the LGS looking to buy a CZ .40, but figured, heck I can get one of those anytime, better grab this 28 while I can

For that price and for a Model 28-2 you got a steal so we would think your S&W rehab may have worked if you hadn't bought it and we would have wanted to know where to get the "cure".

Good choice. Here's one of mine.

Ha, my buddy asked me " Jeez, Jim, how many 38/357's do you need?'...I gave the same answer as always............one more

Quit after you're dead!

That was a darn good buy...as long as it shoots and is in decent shape. You hardly ever find N-frames anywhere for under $500. I thought I did good last year picking up a 4" HP at a gun show for $400, but you bested that! It's my "go to" traveling gun...like they said, a cross between a Rolex and a Tiger tank.

I will probably shoot 38's from it most of the time, but when I shoot .357's , I was planning on using the same load I shoot in my GP100, 20.5 grains of H110 with a 125 grain JHP. Is that a safe load for this gun?
