I use the Burris 336, It's the best combination of a red dot and a scope. Use the same Burris on my AR 15. 3X power for distance with a cross hair reticle Inside a circle red/green dot for close in targets.
Been using golden bullets primarily for over 8 years. Never had a problem. Not as accurate as CCI, but definitely workable. Probably shot well over 5K rounds without an issue.
I have the Burris 336 on two of my rifles and they work very well. At 3 power you can keep both eyes open for close in shots and I can still hit a pie plate at 400 yards with my AR. It also works if you run out of batteries.
I think it gives the best of both worlds, fast target acquisition and...
Been shooting for 55 years and owned scores of guns during that time including many .22s. I have .22s that are much more accurate than the S&W15-22 and ARs that are much more powerful, but the gun I shoot the most is my 15-22. I've had it for about 5 years and bought another for my son last...
At 25 yards at bench rest I can shoot a 2" to 3" group with the 15-22. My Ruger 10-22 with bull barrel and match trigger will have 10 shots touching the same hole.
I shoot the 10-22 about 10X because its that much more fun.
My S&W AR 15 did the same thing. Smith sent me some new pins, but a drop of locktite on the pin fixed the problem and I haven't had a issue with pins walking in years.
My unmodified 15-22 shoots about a 1 1/2 in group at 25 yards using Federal bulk ammo.
My Ruger 10-22 Match with a bull barrel can put every shot touching another at 25 yards with the same ammo.
The 15-22 is much more fun to shoot and I use it much more than the Ruger.
you can buy locking trigger pins, which are very inexpensive.
I had the same issue and a drop of locktite solved the problem and I haven't had a problem in over 3 years.
Bought a body guard last year for my wife and it is simply the worst pistol I've ever owned. Trigger pull is very firm, almost impossible for my wife to do a slow trigger pull. Gun was sent back to S&W three times as it would come apart after 3 or 4 shots sending the slide down range about 20...
Look at the Burris 332, it's a red dot with a 3X power and both a large reticle for CQC and a small reticle for precision shooting. They are about $289 on Ebay.
Sighted it in on a 25 yard indoor range yesterday. Groups were about the same as my 4X scope. The range was rather dark and the high brightness levels of both the red and green reticles washed out the target. On low level or even using the etched reticle with no power gave the best results. I...
Thanks for your input. My Burris 332 arrived today and it's just what I was looking for. The 3X is very clear and the dot is small enough for precision long range shooting. The CQC reticle is large and bright enough that I can keep both eyes open when acquiring close targets. Eye relief is very...
