    M&P Compact versus Shield trigger

I can only speak for the Shield 45 in comparison to my 45 Compact and 40 Compact and I can say with certainty that my Shield 45 trigger was way better out of the box than the other two even after 1000 rounds through them. So, they got the Apex treatment... ;)

357Sig. It ain't all that bad!

This is my method as well. I run a very slight flare to get the bullet to sit in the mouth of the case and then no crimp at all so I don't have to worry about reducing neck tension. My setback testing of this method has shown the least setback of any of the other variations I've tried. No more...

Anybody reloading for the Shield .45

Oops! Forget to give the detailed load. Mine is 5.1gr of W231. I did a load ladder from 4.9gr to 5.3gr and found very good accuracy across the board, but ultimately chose 5.1gr for its accuracy and similarity in recoil to my carry ammo.

Anybody reloading for the Shield .45

My load of choice for my M&P45c and Shield 45 is a 230gr RN plated bullet over W231 powder at 1.260 OAL. Fun to shoot, accurate, and very much like my carry ammo.

    .44 Magnum 240g bullets

I run 8.5gr of W231 under the 240gr RNFP Xtremes for my typical load and it's fantastically fun, shootable, and accurate in my revolver.

    .44 Magnum 240g bullets

I use Xtreme Bullets 240g plated RNFP bullets and they do fine for plinking out of my 6.5" 629-4. I buy them in qty of 500 for about $55 per box at a local shop, but I'm sure places like Midway or other big online shops would have them at a reasonable price too.

What's Your Favorite Powder And Bullet Weight For Your S&W Revolvers

I like 8.5gr of W231 under a 240gr Xtreme RNFP out of my 6.5" 629-4. It's a fun and moderate target load that's very accurate out of my revolver.

School me on S&W MP .45 compact?

I started with a Shield 45 as my edc and on somewhat of a whim, decided to try out the 45c. I would never have predicted what came next, but I absolutely fell in love with the Compact. It actually fits my hands very nicely and shoots WAAAAAAY better. I know, hard to believe, but seriously...

    45ACP Problems

I've run into this before when I started loading pistol cartridges and I found it to be to three main issues consistent with what the others have said. 1. Mixed brass thicknesses drive differences in neck tension. 2. I use a combo Hornady seat/taper crimp die and lengths of brass drive crimp...

New M&P 40c has the dreaded slide "Ker-Chunk!" Has anyone solved this problem yet?

Update: On your recommendation, Jim, I took a look at the feed ramp and did find it to be relatively rough. You could clearly see and feel the machining marks, which run perpendicular to the direction of travel up the ramp. I compared it using a sewing needle to my M&P9 FS, M&P45c, and M&P...
