    Picked up a 10-5

I was at the local fun shop today and picked up a 10-5, nickel, 2", pinned, square butt. Gun is a solid 98%+ piece, with no box and a set of what i believe are aftermarket Goodyears on it. My questions are #1. VALUE... I know I over payed, but it was there and it "spoke to me". #2. Is the square...

    Model 38 odd #.

Thanks for the info... while I am no expert I have tried to educate myself on my collection of S&W revolvers and this is the first I have heard of the "floating J".

    Model 38 odd #.

Picked up a model 38 airweight today... I have the catalog but the serial doesn't jive with what I am finding. Its a pinned 3 screw with the model # 38 by the hinge and 36j4xx on the bottom of the frame. Am I missing something or is this an odd #? Thanks in advance for any info.

what would you pay in todays market 586?

What would you pay for a LNIB 586 no dash with 4" barrel. Gun still has a small inspection sticker on the back of the frame and is as close to 100% as it gets for the 12 rounds that have gone down the pipe. Box, receipt, and all paper work included. I am not sure where to put the value at on...

    29-4 unfluted

I stumbled across a 29-4 unfluted 5", yes it is the 1 of 500 Hill Country guns, they are asking $875 and I think I could get it done a little better than that. My question is what is the going rate for something like this? Gun is like new with the exception of a mild turn ring and has the box...

    Name this gun!!!

The hammer was shrouded not hammerless like a DAO. I am goin to have to call the dealer in the A.M. because I THOUGHT it had a 6## type number but I know for sure it was Nickel plated. What would the value be on a "as new" no box mod 49 no dash nickel plated be? Thanks for the help so far.

    Name this gun!!!

I was at the local fun shop today and found a J frame Smith, it was nickel plated, heavy (stainless or steel), shrouded hammer, rubber grips, app 1 7/8" barrel,pre-lock, non pinned/recessed. I looks like a 638 or 649 but the heavy gun with the nickel finish doesnt jive with my S&W history book...

44 mag ?'s from the noobie

I would assume that the 29-3 is a later model... not doubting but what is the disadvantage of non pinned/recessed? Or are there other issues on the 29-3? Thanks Justinvan

44 mag ?'s from the noobie

Couple weeks ago I got a 27-2 and love it... now I think I need a 44 mag to go with it. What are the best models and why? And what is the best value as a shooter and/or collector? Looking for something that will be close to my 27-2 quality wise unless there is a far better value out there...

    ??27-2??

Sorry, I thought (without investigating first) that there was such a thing as 357 +p.

    ??27-2??

I recently picked up a 27-2 6" blued three T's with presentation case tools papers etc. First question is this gun is in great shape 97%+ I would say, should I shoot the heck out of it or find another one to be my shooter? Next question is will this handle +p ammo? When was it made?(ser#...
