    M52-2 problem

Many thanks to dunk52 for advice on extractor replacement! Fixed! Numrich replacement did the job! Must add though- the Numrich replacement needs to have the hole enlarged ever so slightly; just a few thousandths, otherwise the pin does not fit.

    M52-2 problem

New to the 52-2, and was shooting great with both factory and my reloads. Suddenly, fired brass doesn't eject, and new round from the magazine jams up against the back of the fired round in the chamber. However, if I load only one round, it fires and leaves the brass in the chamber, and the...

    Model 41 Extractor

Yes, it passes the shake test, but I still have stovepipes and failure to eject. My question is, is this extractor defective?

    Model 41 Extractor

After having the occasional fail-to-eject, or stovepipe, I took a close look at the extractor. Notice the distance X in the picture. Is there supposed to be that big of a gap between the extractor claw and the rim of the cartridge? Seems it would grab a lot better if the claw went to the...

    M41 Spare Parts

What should I include in a basic spare parts kit for the Model 41? Springs, firing pin, any other parts that typically break/wear out?

    M41 Ammo question

Thanks guys! Had I not had a full year, and 7,000 rds of CCI SV through this gun no problem, I'd be wondering about the gun. Tried a different lot of CCI SV, worked perfect. Tried Federal Match, and Wolf Target Match- flawless. Went back to my lot (G28R01) of CCI SV, and problems again. Anybody...

    M41 Ammo question

M41 has performed flawlessly over the past year. S/N 110XXX. Bought two cases of CCI Standard Velocity, and the fail-to-eject, fail-to-feed problems began. Is the ammo too waxy? I've tried oiling the first round in the magazine, but still get the occasional fail-to-eject. Anybody else seeing...

    1958 Model 41 Question

The muzzle brake is a biatch to clean. After a few hundred rounds, lead build-up is heavy. I've been looking for a chemical approach to cleaning mine, but have not found one yet.

    Model 41 Not Feeding Second Round from Magazine . . . ??

Another benefit to oiling the first round is no heavy crud buildup. The oil coats everything, and usually just a wipedown will clean up just fine, without carbon deposits. I'm a thousand rounds into a new Clark barrel on my 41, and still needing the oil to properly cycle.

    M41 factory repair

My original 7" barrel on a 1960's M41 worked perfectly. I replaced it with a Clark 5.5", and it will fail to eject often until warmed up, then less often. Clark told me to oil the top round in every other magazine with FP-10. Since doing that, works perfect, every time.

    new model 41 prices

If you want to play with a .22 for plinking, the 22A will serve you well. It is not a target gun. The Model 41 is indeed in a target gun class. Very few can shoot it to its maximum potential of accuracy.

I'd guess at 1983, but call S & W directly. They'll research it for you.

    Smith 41 vs. Browning Bullseye

It depends on what you're after. A plinker and better-than-average target pistol- Browning. A superb target gun-Smith M41. Most wouldn't put high velocity ammo in either. Or dry fire either. Or use either for a hammer.
