2 LERK's off the list this weekend! K22 and Victory Rig

I feel like I should know this already, but what's a LERK?

    Old S&W .38 spl reloads

In a gun of that vintage, I'd steer completely clear of any jacketed rounds. Cylinder heat treating began around serial number 316648 (1919-1920ish, your gun "late 1920's" should be fine, but I'd double check). As far as 'target loads' and Bullseye powder, THE LOAD for many many shooters has...

    My M10-8 transformation

Thanks, kbm! Yes, a lot of my appreciation of my 10-8 is due to the satisfaction from doing it myself (albeit, with help). M10-8's are great sixguns, and the surplus ones are wonderful in that there really is zero collector value (excepting those with interesting departmental stampings or...

Wow, I bet that's a featherweight now! Pretty much the opposite of some of those 1970's PPC guns with the oversized barrels and weights. Fun to see the variations tailored to the end use. :)

    Have a new want

Only one way to find that out, Bob! :D

    Have a new want

Well, just buy a Model 10 and a Model 19, adds up to 29.

    My M10-8 transformation

Thank you! It's just an old painter's trick, really. I polished the cylinder, in that area, to a high mirror finish on the buffing wheel with black compound, then I masked off the part I wanted to remain shiny with a narrow band of electrical tape*. About 30 seconds under the sandblasting...

No poo-poo'ing coming from this corner. Just never seen anything like it before. Very unique! :)

    S&W model 76 9mm

I've only ever seen/held one of these, it was in a gunshop in S.Minneapolis about 15 years ago. Price, if memory serves, was $1750. At that time it was waaaaay out of my means, plus, there are very few people in MN that have the credentials required to buy/own NFA guns. Was very cool, though.

    Annoyed at thread drift

I let my mind wander, so, if you've seen it, please tell it to come back. I may need it.

    617 Picture Thread

Ah, ask and you shall receive, grasshopper. Unless one of the deleted photos from earlier showed one, I have not seen a "no-lug" M617 posted in this thread, yet. This was from a special, small run in 1991 made for Ashland Shooting Supplies. I don't recall the production run totals...

Model 37 in original box and cleaning kit

I know very little about the M37, but want to welcome you to the forum, and mention that I too am in SE MN! Maybe I'll see you at Ahlman's someday. :)

I have an ammo question for my 38 spec. revolver

As 520 said, +P should be just fine. The general rule of thumb I've heard around here is that the model numbered guns, post-1957, are safe with +P ammo. Of course, that is assuming that the gun is mechanically sound. Others go further back and state that once the cylinders were heat treated...

A Pair of Austin PD Heavy Duties

Very nice! Good to see some high quality stampings, too. (As opposed to ones scrawled by hand with one of those vibratory engravers.)
