    A model 64-4

Outside of paying Photobucket ransom, go to the paperclip symbol in the option bar atop the message box. That will allow you to use 'attachment' to browse thru your photo files, then upload to put your photo in this message space.

Age of my Smith & Wesson mod 10

Here's an interesting quote from an Oslo journalist in USA Today. “The police has not been armed in Norway,” Seierstad says. “People in the US could say, ‘Well, isn’t that scary?’ Well when the police is not armed, the drug dealer is not armed, the criminals are not armed, because no one is...

    Model 10-10 markings....

I've only had sloppy etched letters and numbers on foreign surplus imports or confiscated arms later released for sale. As precaution, I always entered both sets in my records book.

    29-3 nickel price

Are you a collector who will keep it unfired for your heirs ? I'd rather pay ~$800 and have a shooter; never been one to collect pretties new in a box. Not many used 29's that have been shot loose and they still look as new.

    64-8 Broken Barrel

You're confusing it with the Taurus lifetime. Don't expect a quick turn around like Ruger, but work is excellent.(used to be anyway)

    Laser etched 10-11

In the late 90's, S&W factory offered a std laser job on any revolver for ~$65, if I recall. I sent in my 48 along with a customers 13 and they were returned in about two weeks with attractive scroll work. That offer didn't last too long.

Centerfire model 64 with interesting markings

Makes me wonder why my 64-5 isn't marked +P. After a few minutes with a cylinder reamer, it's now a 357 model 64 so the missing P doesn't mean much. I've rarely put 357's in it, just wanted the option if the need arose.

Centerfire model 64 with interesting markings

My 64-5 is / was a Phoenix police exchange. With ~150,000 64's traded in across the country, there's going to be umteen mixed names, ID scratches and stampings over the entire lot. Glock has done the same with their 19's and 22's. My 22 is from the Fulton County Ga. correctional system...

Hammer Spur On A 64-5 DAO

That explains it then since mine was a LE sell-off. I never considered the obvious outside of not defining stranger.

Hammer Spur On A 64-5 DAO

Seemed a hazard if a stranger were to try and cock it like single action. Why convert it and leave the spur ? I've since taken a Dremel cut off disc to it.
