    A Scarce Victory Variation

Britain continued rationing until the mid-1950s and finished paying off their debts to the U.S. in 2006. Since they were paying for war materiel as quickly as they could we let them keep it.

    A Scarce Victory Variation

Lend-Lease guns do not have a Broad Arrow which indicates MOD ownership. They didn't own them.

    A Scarce Victory Variation

Was it marked "U.S. PROPERTY" or "UNITED STATES PROPERTY"? What are the US GOV acceptance marks to which you refer? What kind of grips? Thanks.

    A Scarce Victory Variation

A Navy seaman was killed when a Victory revolver was dropped on the steel deck of his ship. The Ordnance Dept. approved the new hammer block in late 1944 and a contract was let in May 1945 to convert 40,000 revolvers. The complete documentation can be found in Pate's excellent book on WWII...

    the Box craze and accessories

No offense to anyone, but I think the original premise is wrong, at least for serious collectors. Why wouldn't you want the original box and contents? And, if they aren't available, you look for period/model correct replacements. As long as they are not misrepresented if/when sold then where...

The J Edgar Hoover 22 “registered magnum” ??

I have a couple of very poor pictures of Hoover's RM 1. I don't think any pictures or other evidence of the RM in .22LR have ever shown up anywhere. I don't doubt that it was made and delivered, but it seems to have been lost to history.

The Ultimate Cigar Lounge build thread

Well, I don't want to bring harsh anyone's mellow in an interesting thread but there is a huge body of science that disagrees. And it isn't just cancer that is a problem. Heart disease, high blood pressure, lung damage...the list goes on and on. We should all max out our spending on lottery...

    Restored, Grandpa’s Rusty S&W Model 39-2. You won’t believe it….

Well, no offense, but the Navy and the Air Force bought hundreds of Model 39s and they used the stock wooden grips.

Has the Scout Rifle Outlived it's Hey Day?

Really? Are you saying Ruger and/or Savage and/or Leupold or others paid him? For what? He created no proprietary intellectual property.

Nice job, but please put some original wood grips on it and lose the Pachmayr's.

    Recommendations on Preserving M3 Holster

I might be wrong but I see no threads, only leather fibers. I still vote to leave it alone.
