The lock up issue was a pretty well known issue for some 1.0's. The barrel on the 2.0 was changed to fix this issue specifically.

On my Shield 2.0 is almost impossible to release when the weapon is empty (no mag). At the range when I insert a new full mag it is much easier. That said I am a sling shoter most of the time, so it does not matter to me. Personally I would NOT file anything down. Yes break in will help this...

Do you a link showing this??? Was this on a 1.0...because that trigger bar was a total mess with that curly end you could bend. On a 2.0 I am not sure how it would fail in a drop test?? If it did fail it would fail on the stock parts as well. The parts are way better quality than the stock...

Personally I think the 45, especially a full size one, has less kick than a faster 9mm. I had a Glock 21 years ago that was so soft shooting compared to my Glock 17's. The 17's were not bad but that 21 was like butter to shoot. I would like to try out a full size M&P 2.0 in 45.

This is the way to do it. I teach anyone that asks about slide racking this method. In fact its 90% push IMHO. The biggest problem with slide racking, especially this method, is newbies tend to ride the slide and not let go, possibly causing issues. Practice makes perfect.
