    cleaning kits?

I have a 16-4 6" with box and papers and it may be a silly question but I'd like to find out if it should have a cleaning kit. If there is information on cleaning kits in the 4th Edition would someone please direct me to it? Thanks for your help. Midkan

    Reassembling after field strip

Thanks to all who have replied. Local gunsmith showed me how to move the prepared slide back to hammer then manipulate the ejector depressor plunger while applying pressure to slide towards the rear. It works. Once again thanks to all. Regards, Don

    Reassembling after field strip

Bought a collectible condition 669 a few years ago and have never fired it. Couple of days ago I field stripped it and used the barrel/chamber to test the reloads I was doing. Got to a spot where I didn't need to use it anymore and began to reassemble it. Went through the same procedure as with...

Can anyone here tell me about this knife?

I think it first appeared in Taylor Cutlery catalog #59 in the late 90's. It appears that some were blade marked "Custom Knife" and some not. My copy of the catalog shows it as SW1 priced at $212.50 It is a beautiful knife as were all of the S&W custom knives from that era.

    RC-135

steveno, Your three recent posts bring back wonderful memories. 6985thSS 1964-1966 I wasn't an Aircrewman but I processed a lot of the material they brought back. Back then I didn't think much about it but over the years I have realized the risks they took and have developed great respect for...

    S&W 17-3 and a 18-3

Saw it about two weeks ago (18-3 6") and asked to see the box. Took about 20 minutes for the salesman to find the "box". Turned out that the "box" was a non S&W replacement with a 4" barrel wrapped in vapor paper inside. The 6" barrel was a replacement.
