Found this online. Serial number 747xx. SCSW has date range from 1949-1969 so I can't accurately date the gun. Seller states there is no s/n inside of the stocks. Says it's a 5 screw. Looks to me to be a 4 screw. But I will leave that up to the forum to help me decide that. Rates the gun at 98%...

I have decided to keep the 686. The 19-5 was a nice gun but I think I would have a hard time finding another 686 in the current configuration. Thanks to all for confirming my real feelings. Sometimes when you question something, there is usually a reason. I found that out today.

Well since acquiring this model 52-2 probably 250-500 rounds per year of .38 wadcutter. That does not rule out other pistol calibers. I have quite a bit of factory ammo. But nothing in .38 wadcutter.
