    IMI 5.56

IMI is fine, I don't notice any difference between it and LC. For general blasting / training pretty much anything should work well.

    10mm factory loadings ?

For hunting Federal has a 180 gr Trophy Bonded, I don't know much about it (I don't shoot 10mm) but it is definitely worth looking into. I would be wary of any loads that produce velocities above what the bullets used are designed for (like 180gr gold dots loaded at 1300fps).

    Fusion ammo

The fusion and gold dot rifle bullet are almost identical in construction. Besides being a good hunting bullet and well priced, I know that at least the .223 loading have sealed primers and flash suppressant powders.

    9mm Shield questions

A small single-stack handgun is not a good idea to get as a first handgun. Not starting on a full size or at a minimum G19 sized pistol is not conducive to successfully learning how to use a handgun. This is even more true for women as people always recommend them get a tiny handgun, which is...

    Zeroing my Sport II

It applies for all bullets, the velocity of each particular load and BC of the bullet will cause the second distance the rifle is 'zeroed' at to change slightly. The reason for this is the mechanical offset of between the optic or sight and the bore.

    Zeroing my Sport II

A 50 yard zero is most common, the 25 yard zero allows you to shoot further distances before you need to hold over the target. The 25 yard zero lets you be zeroed at 25 and 300(ish), the 50 yard zero is zeroed at 50 and 200(ish), the advantage of the 50 yard zero is that it gives you less offset...

    lube

Brownells and Midway have the Gun Oil, it is a few dollars cheaper than the EWL for a 4oz bottle, I don't know if they make Gun Oil in the 16 oz bottle but I know you get a way better deal on the 16oz bottles of EWL and 725 Cleaner. I don't think I've seen any Slip 2000 products locally.

    lube

I use Amsoil (their motor oil) at the range and it works great; Slip 2000 EWL is all I use otherwise, all of the Slip 2000 cleaning products have worked great for me and I would recommend them to anyone.

Hello, just recently purchased a Sport II and have some ammo questions.

For defensive purposes the two most widely regarded loadings are Federal 62gr TBBC (Tactical Bonded is their .223 loading, the 5.56 loading isn't commercially available outside of seconds), and Winchester RA556B. At a more affordable price point, Speer Gold Dot (55, 64, and 75gr) and Federal...

    Trigger Upgrade?

Geisseles are the most proven and well regarded 2-stage triggers available, I would get the G2S you are looking at and don't bother considering any different ones.

    Thinking about S&W M&P 15 Sport 15 II

With milspec or practice ammo I wouldn't expect anything better than 3 on a consistent basis. If I remember correctly accuracy specs for M855 (green tip) is 6 MOA (so 6 MOA is the worst it can be, not the average). There is plenty of good practice ammo, off the top of my head I know lots of...

Was considering a break for my sport

Brakes make your rifle shoot flatter, and flatter is better. While it may not always be the best choice for other reasons, the fact that 5.56 doesn't have much recoil to begin with shouldn't be one of those reasons. If you run a 1-5 drill in 5 seconds it won't do much for you, but if you can run...

    Thinking of switching...

I would switch it for a 9 without hesitation. In addition to consolidating calibers, which makes things much easier, you will get a more shootable pistol.

Upgrading a Sport II or just get a T?

Depending on your budget you may be better served by purchasing neither of those rifles. While the FSB won't hinder your ability to use a red-dot, it is preferable to not have one, since they limit the type and length of handguard you can use and the subsequent mounting of accessories (mainly a...

M&P15 TS vs M&P15 VTAC II Viking Tactics

Depending on how much you want to spend on a light, you could get a TLR-1 or an X300 Ultra and mount them at 12:00, you could also get one of the Surefire Scouts and a pressure switch. Having the light at 12:00 is my preference. For dots, if you don't want to spend $700 on a T1 / T2 your can...
