I don't think it has been refinished all marks and edges are sharp no sighs of buffing.

I have S&W 29-2 6.5" that is nickel it's not as bright as my Colts it looks more like a mat nickel like my nickel Colt 1911. I can not fine any reference to S&W doing a mat finish on their guns can anyone help? Thanks, Nobeard

I have and early S&W 29 serial number S172xxx in nickel it looks to has been re-plated it has a small box stamp under the left grip with a R-N in-side of it. Does anyone know what the stamp stands for?
