Thanks for the responses--I'm dissuaded for sure, but what would go wrong if the gun were fired from within the closed baggie, gripped and triggered through the thin plastic?

O course, I had a plastic, Glad-type bag in mind.

As a somewhat waterproof, lint-proof way to carry a 642, with butt and trigger still reachable in the unlikely need for use. I'm wondering whether the bullet and gas would be hampered by such thin surroundings--really bare pocket carry seems too unprotected...and a pocket holster might not fit...

Just picked up my new 642 in Micanopy and was surprised to find it was no lock--I figured only connected old hands would luck out so. Julian code is 8302, by my reading, but the test fire took place 10-28-08.
