I too own a 645 and 1. it has never missed a beat and 2. shooting from a rest it shows great accuracy. In my hands unsupported...well...not so much.
Not a knock on the design but learn how to remove the firing pin. There will come a time when schmutz develops around it and its spring and will...
Allow me to join "the 457 love-fest." This is my favorite in .45.
It just fits my hand nicely and it doesn't beat up my shooting hand.:D
My 4566 on the other hand ends up bruising the web of my shooting hand if I fire more than one mag through it. Admittedly part of the problem is simply the...
M&P Magazine Finger Rest
My son called today and he was told...sorry can't help you. You'll have to buy a new magazine for your new M&P Shield 9mm.
*** ???
When I called for my 9c & later for my 40c I got the same treatment as other posters. One for each in the mail gratis.
I'll call...

"The same monkeys that sandpaper Smith & Wesson stainless revolvers also used Sharpies to put the finish on 457s"
I about blew beer out my nose when I read this. :) I was displeased at the quick appearance of holster wear on my 457 and now I know why. I still love the pistol...but...
Yep...if the safety is off the hammer should stay back.
Something's broken.
Our dept. went to Mod. 59's in 1976. I still have mine and it is still more accurate than I can be. :)
Get the largest zip lock bag you can find. Reassemble inside the bag. When things fly apart they 1. won't hit you in the face & 2. won't fly across the room never to be seen again.
Please do not ask me how I know this. :)
I would recommend a telephone call to customer service. The plugs are small enough Customer Service just might send them free. But have your credit card handy when you make the call.
I've ordered several small things from S&W and never a hitch.
Good luck

Welcome to the forum (like I'm such a long time member  but welcome none the less)
M&P 9c owner here. It is my regular carry pistol. Threw some lead at paper with it today. Tried a 'speed' mag change...OUCH...pinched the ring finger of the right hand big time :eek...
Thanks guys..and yes...I did purchase the Uplula magazine loader. My fingers thanked me. Plus I was able to actually get 10 rounds in the magazines. :D
Picked it up this past Friday. Sent 100 rds. down range with it Saturday.
I was pleasantly surprised by the feel of the trigger after reading all the bad press about it being gritty etc. The reset does seem a little "long" to me and it is not overly tactile. But all in all I like it and it is...
I have been very pleased with my 457. It has never failed to go bang and it is plenty accurate. It is of course easily concealable and that's why it is my carry gun. As noted the finish is prone to holster wear.
I am a moderate shooter and I have no fear that I will wear the pistol out in my...
