I’m 74 and a thin skinner also.

I use 4.7 of that powder and bullet.

When in shot competition everybody used Varget. I settled on 25.0 gr for all bullet weights. Even thou half the stages were rapid fire, no one crimped, unnecessary.

I liked the M14. qualified expert with it in 1966 at Camp Pendleton. Several months later I qualified expert with the 1911 also.

I have one in .357 also. It’s accurate, easy to carry. I’m glad I bought it.

Crimping is not necessary. Competitors shooting in high power matches never crimp their loads . Half of the match is shot rapid fire. Bullet set-back is not an issue.

I would think most handloaders would be surprised to learn that the gold dot line is a plated bullet. I was.

Previous posters have given excellent advice. My JM is my do-all rifle.

I have a Kimber Gold Match and 4 glocks. I resize the cases and adjust the bullet seating depth where they run fine in all 5 pistols. I have no idea how many times I have reloaded the same cases. One thing I don't do is reload to +P velocities.

I have always given each egg a slight push to see if it is cracked and leaking (stuck). Just the frugal nature of me I guess
