    Navy Victory ??

This a.m. noticed an ad on the guns for sale/ "Smith and Wesson 5 screw Victory Revolver with original holster, cleaning rod and lanyard. I got this from a relative of a WWII PB4Y1 (B-24) pilot. Comes with a very interesting letter of provenance I received outlining his 40 year career in naval...

DCP, I don't have the direct # to the Historian. I believe he is Roy Jinks at the S&W Museum. If you call S&W @ (800)+331-0852 between 8:00 AM & 5:00 PM EST they may be able to direct you. The U.S. NAVY stamp on mine is at the same location on the top strap as yours is.

Victory PC/CD marked, pictures - redux

All the Victory's I have seen that were marked "Civil Defense" had the Navy Property on the left side of the frame with "Civil Defense" crudely embosed with electro pencil over it. Looks really ugly !!Someone has suggested it could be an arsenal rebuild/inspection mark of some sort.

PC/CD Ben, I will try to get pics of my "V" model on website this weekend. Could you supply the 1st 4 digits of your revolver. Mine are V1211xx and run to the right of the lanyard ring with the muzzle pointed to the left. I have seen some which have the "V" on the left of the ring and...
