Just picked up a Model 10 Victory .38 Spcl. The Serial # is V66110. Can anyone provide any information about the manufacturing date, etc...

I went from having no S&W revolvers, to having two in a matter of days.

Thanks,
Ash

This is only the beginning. {Big Grin}

I would guess that's a pretty early one ('42, '43 ?) but no doubt someone knows.

S&W did not assign Model Numbers til '57, so yours is not, strictly speaking, a Model 10. Some distain the use of the term "Pre-10" so you're safest bet is to refer to it as an M&P or a Victory Model.

First off, V66110 is not a Model 10. It is a Model 1905, 4th change. S&W did not use the Model 10 designation until 1956-7 era when all the S&W revolvers and pistols were assigned new model numbers. V66110 was probably shipped circa Sept-Oct 1942. Depending on how it's marked it would be a military shipment or possibly a civiian shipment to a war plant guard or a police unit. Post some pictures and describe all stampings and markings. Only two S&W revolvers is not near enough, but you have to start somewhere! Good luck. Ed.

With the serial # V66110, your Victory was most likely manufactured in 1944.

Probably mfg Feb-Apr 1942 and shipped summer of 1942 and thats my best guess.....1944 mfg would have something closer to 500,000-600,000.
