Can the S&W M&P Compact Suppressor Ready in 22 LR model have the threaded portion removed so it is essentially the same size as the Compact. Conversely can the Compact model have the adapter added so that it is like the Compact Suppressor model.

The same thing happened to me, shipped it back to S&W and two weeks later it was returned, stripped screw. S&W paid for shipping both ways. The laser buttons can be removed from the outside by a very small blade, exacto etc.

I checked with Crimson Trace they suggested a fine edge like on a razor blade, got my exacto and popped them right off.

I highly recommend Taren Tactical plus 2. Bought the blue version and love it. Simple install and fully functional. However it is very difficult to get the 10th round in at first. Wonderful customer service.

UPDATE. Got my pistol back from S&W almost three weeks gone. They said the problem was a stripped screw. Looks like someone was over aggressive at the factory. My advice check your weapon to make sure you can remove module. Sending unit to CT to exchange for the Green laser.

using right tool and even going counter clockwise many turns it only requires about 1 to two turns clockwise to get snug.
