I carry my Shield 9 in an leather pancake OWB exclusively. I can't tell the pancake makes any difference over a plastic IWB holster of any kind. I must have 8 different holsters. Someday you will wind up with a drawer full of holsters that looked good at the store but didn't fit you personally.

Same here CB. As I am sure you know You can buy sleeves to fit fil the gap between 17 round mags and the compact grip. I have been making my own sleeves to fill the gap when I use the 15 round mags, which I prefer to carry most of the time.

Many people, especially us old coots. can't get a good enough grip on the slide to do that. The best for most is, and always will be the off hand grip on the slide while pusing with the strong hand.

I carry a Shield with the 7 round magazine with a 2 round extension. The two round extension is still very concealable. I think most people are paranoid about printing. Just forget about it printing.
