    new grips on 586

Fast shipping, excellent quality, and perfect fit from Boone Trading. Original target stocks don't fit me well and these are so much better with the Tyler t.

    picked up a 66-2

Bob, 004 in the top left corner of the box label isn't the Model Number. Look below "model number" where it says 66. You're insinuating that the gun is not from the 80s but a more recent production? People have dated the gun via the serial number on the gun and box to 1988. I also have a...

    picked up a 66-2

Thanks everyone for the help. Do you have any reason why you would not want an old one? I paid less for this one than I would have paid for a new one and it doesn't have MIM parts and IMO is manufactured to a higher standard that S&W just doesn't have anymore.

    picked up a 66-2

Very happy with this armslist find. Bought from the original owner who shot it a total of 12 times. 6 from each box and he even gave me the remaining ammo. Any info on date of mfg would be appreciated.

    shoot or no? 586 nickel

Yes sir! It's had a few trips to the range and cleaned up just fine after. (looks better now than in the above pics) No regrets shooting it and will definitely get it back out soon. Fantastic shooter.

    686 v comp?

    He's likely referring to a 586 L-comp or 627 V-comp. I don't know of a 686 V comp being produced. Oh maybe the 686 competitor?

    safety first

Instagram Hope this isn't one of you guys. Sadly, we've probably all seen this kind of "instructor" even if they haven't been quite this dangerous. Be safe at the range and look out for idiots posing as professionals.

    .38 Defense Ammo

Additional recoil making it more difficult to get back on target and flash from barrel could cause a problem at night. Not worth it for me. I'm accurate with 110 critical defense and I know how the bullet expands so no use in adding potential issues with +p. For me at least..

    A change in my decision

I understand making smart financial decisions and there is nothing terribly wrong with a Glock. We all need something to throw in the truck and not worry about. Remember, a timex and a rolex both tell time but they are a different price for a reason. Never heard of grandpa passing down his...

    .38 Defense Ammo

another vote for 110 critical defense standard pressure. Very controllable with excellent expansion and penetration. I'm no rocket scientist but it's my understanding most +p loads don't burn fast enough in short barrels to utilize the additional pressure.

629-4 PC Master Hunter Scope Only

Fantastic gun. I wouldn't have been able to resist either. Definitely needs an RMR style or scope instead of iron sights. Good move.

Year of Magnum 357? Selling price?

If you'll post a picture of the serial number (open the cylinder and it's stamped inside, below the barrel) someone can tell you the exact date. Mid 2000s - today i believe. It's a late model 686.

    Bummed about my new 929

I know Smith makes it right when you send them back but man it's frustrating to have a gun (especially when paying a premium for a PC) not function properly. To me, it seems like this is a frequent occurrence with PC guns and a serious problem. Until it affects sales I don't imagine anything...
