The perfect fix for this is to get a MagGuts kit for each of your Shield magazines at magguts.com. The kit uses a double capture spring setup and a redesigned follower to make room for about 1.25 more rounds in the magazine. It does this and still retains the factory specs for follower spring...

In addition, give the MagGuts 9mm Shield kit a try. The kit makes room for about 1.25 more rounds, which gives more headroom to push in that final round (8 rounds in a 7 round magazine) AND more headroom to seat a full magazine! Works flawlessly.
