Got my new M&P 22, have not shot it yet. I noticed the manual warns Do Not Dry-Fire. So what do you do after the last shot? Three options: (1) Dry fire it anyway. (2) Leave it cocked for weeks/months until you take it out again. (Would that weaken the spring?) (3) Find a snap cap for it...
The CT lasergrip that came with my M&P 40 FS has a separate off switch that will keep it off if you don't want the grip button to activate it. Mine hasn't lost its zero.
I bought a Storm Lake conversion barrel but it doesn't work due to its rough feed ramp. Ammo sticks to it and jams every time. I've been meaning to sand and polish it but haven't yet. Otherwise, it looks good and fits well. Just haven't been able to shoot it yet. From what I've read, mine...
I just bought a new M&P 22LR pistol, expecting it to be a lot of fun at the range and on my dad's place in the country.
Q1. What practice ammo would you recommend? I'm thinking of Remington Champion maybe. Is there a significant difference in how clean/dirty the powder is among various cheap...
It is in stock now.
Good news, I noticed they were in stock at Bud's on Sunday. Placed an order, it will be here tomorrow! I checked just now and they are still in stock. Hopefully this means you won't have to wait long if you order locally.
I agree with SouthChatHam and M&PStrapped. The FS and c are very similar. Carry your FS for a while and if you think it is too big/heavy, try the Kahr CM9/PM9, probably the best small-thin-light 9.
I bought a FS 40 and a 9c last year. The 9c trigger was excellent. The 40 was poor until I installed the Apex kit, except for the part under the rear sight, which refuses to slide out!
I bought a NEW Storm Lake conversion bbl to convert my 40FS to 9mm. I haven't shot it yet because every time I try, it fails to feed. :( The copper end of the FMJ bullet sticks to the feed ramp every time. Upon close inspection, I see that the feed ramp is very rough, with many small ridges...
M&P 9c
My M&P 9c was perfect right out of the box. It is very fun to shoot, and shoots well. Get a couple of full size magazines for extra fun! Some M&Ps have rough triggers that may need work.
You won't know if a new M&P needs a trigger job until you try it. I bought a new 9c that has a great factory trigger and is a dream to shoot. But my .40 full size's factory trigger was terrible, so I installed the Apex DCAEK kit. I love 'em both now. (I also really like the .40's Crimson...
9c - YES!
Good thread, fun to read! I have a .40 FS w CT lasergrip, and a 9c. The 9c is wonderful! Easy to shoot well, I highly recommend it. The .40 with laser is fun, but no one could shoot it worth a darn due to its rough trigger. I'll be installing an APEX DCAEK kit this weekend. I'm...
I have a 9mm compact and a .40 full size. I slightly prefer 9mm -- accurate and very easy to control. I like the crimson trace laser grip on my .40. If your hand isn't small, you should seriously consider ordering your gun with the crimson trace laser.
Warning: the triggers vary. I was...
Yes, check to assure the grips were the same on each. Or it could be the trigger on the .40. Was it a new one? I have a new FS 40 and a new 9c. I shoot the 9c great, but none of us (four good shooters) could shoot the 40 straight. With the Crimson Trace laser we could see what was...
