    sd9ve lifetime

Early Sigma's did have problems with the frame halves coming apart, that was fixed. G and S&W did settle out of court, but it did not almost drive Smith out of business. So much "Gun Shop Lore" that person needs waders. FWIW. Apex Tactical does like the SD series. I like their replacement...

    45ACP LEE dies: D2 E1 E5 Which is what?

The letters & numbers after are date codes that Lee uses to determine when the dies were produced if there is a problem with the dies. ETA: Nice looking Officer's Model. You do not see them around very much anymore.

    Night Sights

You've got two choices, Trijicon and Meprolight. Trijicon's are more $$ and I like the way they look over the Meprolights, but the Meprolights have a larger, brighter, white outline that surrounds the tritium insert. IMO, it makes the dots stand out a bit better.

    Conversion kit available?

I've gone down that 9x19 in a .40 S&W magazine during the Clinton era. They all worked just ok. If I were that desperate to shoot 9x19, personally I would just buy one rather then getting a barrel for my .40 S&W. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

    Conversion kit available?

You also need a 9x19 magazine for reliable feeding.

Anyone notice the Sigma is not on S&W site?

In production or not, the last time I was on their website (after the Nov. election) the Sigma's were still on the website.

Anyone notice the Sigma is not on S&W site?

Maybe it is a glitch, but the Sigma line is not on the Handguns drop down menu and when you type Sigma into the search, the pistols do not come up.

What is the difference between the S&W 910 & 915?

The 915, IMO, is to be preferred. It is a 5904 with older 669 series rear sight and the frame lacking the dust shield fluting of the 5900 series. The 910 has a plastic recoil guide rod, plastic sights (different pattern), more angular looking slide and frame. Lastly, the barrel slide lock up...

    SD9 +p

I usually replace springs every 5,000 rounds, with the exception of my BHP and Kahr, which I replace every 2,000. Glock recommends their recoil spring be replaced every 7,500 rounds. With hammer pistols, I replace the recoil, hammer, and firing pin, springs. With striker fired pistols, I...

    SD9 +p

You will see decreased spring life as well as slide/frame battering. Additionally, you might start to see feeding issues due to spring wear. Won't happen for many hundreds of rounds and if you replace your springs at regular intervals, you might not see any wear for many a year. As for +P...

    SD9 +P+ and Underwood Ammo

What these people are trying to tell you, politely, is that there is no reason to use +P+ ammo. +P+ ammo has no SAAMI, or CIP standard. Winchester and Federal try, key word is try, to keep the PSIA to 42,000 psi. What additional effectiveness are you thinking you will see by going to +P+...

    S&W SD40 VE ammo choices

I second this. Personally, I would endorse the HST, DPX, then Gold Dot. I prefer the Ranger Bonded to the Ranger T, but the most important requirement would be reliability, then accuracy. Even the non bonded Golden Saber would be ok, at least in the heavier weights, if that was what the most...

    Getting a lot of misfeeds

Have you tried a different brand of ammunition? There is a thread here with someone having the same issues with the SD40VE and they resolved themselves (so far) by changing ammunition.
