Have the Apex Duty/Carry spring kit for my M&P340. Reliable ignition with over 200 rounds shot, so far. also, a slight stoning of the rebound slide also works, if you are comfortable with doing that. A good cleaning and lubing with the side plate off works wonders, along with lots of dry-fire.
If you like the Buffalo Bore, try their .38Spl 158gr SWCHP, low flash, low recoil. It's standard pressure, and made for the lightweight or older j-frames. Still has a little thump from my j-frame, but controllable.
If you liked the grips on your LCR, you might try the Hogue Tamer grips for your 340. Have a set on my M&P340, and they make all the difference. They are just a bit bigger if you pocket carry, but they are great for target practice.
Last week I completed my retired LEOSA qualifications using my M&P9c and my M&P340. No problem with the 9c, but every year, I'm a little apprehensive with the j-frame. We have to shoot the same course of fire with backup/off-duty guns as the duty guns, so that means shooting the j at 25 yards...
Carry my 9c appendix, 11 o'clock, I'm a lefty, in a Blade Tech Klipt appendix holster. Very thin and comfortable, and can be placed behind the hip if so desired. Works great cross-draw also.
bulldogman: I agree with you! I too wish the mag extension was more in line with the bottom of the frame. I don't think it would add that much length, plus I feel the gun would have a more pleasing squared look instead of that angled look.
Anybody here have a set of the XS Sights installed on their M&P? If so, did you go with the big dot or standard dot, and were they easy to replace? Checked the search function, but didn't get the answers I was looking for. Thanks all...
I have Altamont Boot grips on my M&P340, and for me, it depends on which pair of jeans I am wearing. Most jeans now don't have a large or loose pocket like they used to. My snubby fits fine in my Wrangler jeans, but prints horribly in my Carhartt jeans pocket.
Somebody asked what Lovette considered a snubbie to be, and it drove me crazy until I found his definition in the book. On page 15, of the Revised and Updated edition of "The Snubby Revolver", Lovette wrote..."to be fair, by definition we will include in this category any five- or six-shot...
I may be wrong, but I believe Altamont Grips may be the supplier for S&W. I bought a pair of the silver/black boot grips from them a few months ago, and they are superb. Looks great on my M&P340. I also believe they are half the price buying direct from Altamont. As stated earlier, they are...
Had a set of the Bantoms on my M&P340. Better look and feel than the stock rubber boot grip. They work great with speedloaders, and are just as concealable. The Hogue Monogrip is slightly longer, but thinner, and permits a 3-finger grip. Little big for the pocket though.
I recently bought a pair of S&W Mod60 Pro Comp Grips for my M&P340. The backstrap isn't covered, but they extend about a finger width past the frame. The S&W website has a picture of them on the M-60. They feel great, and accomodate speed loaders.
They are not listed in the parts section...
The mag loader you got was probably an UpLula loader. They work great, and if your mag are anything like mine, the springs are really stiff. You will really appreciate the mag loader!!!
