SWAG on worth for of 629-1 Classic

This one is so old there aren't any laser markings. I'll give her a gentle massage with Flitz and decide if she's too pretty to part with. It does shoot great with any sensible loading and has the nicest single action trigger of any gun I've ever shot. But the siren call of a semi custom...

SWAG on worth for of 629-1 Classic

Found ze box and ze paperz. I bought it twenty plus years ago, surprising what you manage to hang on to over time...

SWAG on worth for of 629-1 Classic

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to the worth of a 629-1 6" Underlugged Un-fluted Classic Hunter, Hogue Monogrips. This is one that was called a "Classic Hunter" on the box but not anywhere in the gun itself. It's been carried and hunted with a few times but I'd call it 90%. Hasn't been out...

    M629 What-iz-it?

No Dash That's it! I'm at the point that I've found that memory is the second thing to go. I don't remember what the first was. :) Thanks!

    M629 What-iz-it?

The local Gander Mtn has what looks like a 2 1/2" model 629 that appears to have Hogue grips, unfluted cylinder with bear tracks etched around it, Magnaports and fiber optic front sight. I dimly remember seeing one of these advertised years ago. What is it? and about how much is it worth? I...

    325 PD

I've gone to a set of Ahrends grips too, I can hide this little cannon stuck down in my Cabela's Short pants with an untucked T-shirt. I'd agree it's not a gun you'll shoot frequently. I've found that you need to check all the screws after less than fifty rounds as they tend to vibrate loose...

    325 PD

The only +P load I've fired in my 325NG is the 230gr XTP +P from Hornady. I haven't had a problem with them crawling out of the case but I've only fired about a dozen of them. I did stop after four rounds during each cylinder full to see if the last two were growing. I've also had no problems...

    .45acp Mountain Gun

Looks like a fine pistole, just a bit bigger (and more expensive) than I'm looking for. I bet it would be a real shooter.

    .45acp Mountain Gun

Gents, Thanks for the info. I've owned a .44 mag Mountain Gun for about eight years and it has been my most accurate .44 to date. If I find a stash of them in .45acp I'll let you know. :)

    .45acp Mountain Gun

I've been thinking of getting one lately and wondered what you gents think of yours, and how hard it is to find one. While I like my 325NG, I believe I'd like a gun with a bit more weight and sight length for shooting on a regular basis.

    325NG shoots waaaay low

Years ago while attending an armorer school, I got to take a tour of the S&W plant. It was explained that workers were paid by the "piece" and that everyone wanted to work as a test firer, until they found out how boring the job was. They have to just stand there, load and empty gun after gun...

***UPDATE***June 2011***H.R 218 LEOSA... How's that working out for fellow retirees?

Big D, We started with the cards when LEOSA was a new concept for everyone. As the concept has matured we've learned that the cards aren't necessary for current officers, but a few like them to show they're qualified with and authorized to carry an off duty weapon. We had one officer who's...

***UPDATE***June 2011***H.R 218 LEOSA... How's that working out for fellow retirees?

We issue a card stating the date and weapon you qualified with on our "Off Duty" gun course (which is the same course we run for low light, just no flashlight). I believe being a retired officer qualifies as "off duty" . :) I've qualified a few retired officers from other agencies, in fact I...

    Good service, fast turnaround

After reading your original thread I decided to send mine back too. A bit of warm weather allowed me to go to the range again and I decided that I'd paid enough for the pistol to expect it to be "better". Glad to hear your turnaround was so quick as mine went out by Fed-Ex on Tuesday and I...

    Bowen Rough Country Rear Sights

I installed a Rough Country sight on my 325 Night Guard after finding the issue sights were 6" left at 20 yards. I used the "V" sight and for me it's light years better than the C&S sight that came on the gun. It's much quicker to get on target and the index line helps in low light where the...
